She sings in the Wheeling Thursday Music Club chorus, and is a life member of both the Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was inducted into the WVU Order of Vadalia in 2005. Phyllis was elected to the Southern WV Community and Technical College Foundation Board. Phyllis is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and serves a parliamentarian for many organizations. Phyllis lives part-time in St. Petersburg, FL, with her husband, Owen - class of 1955 - and enjoys her son Reginald's family. Reggie, '86, is a lawyer in Tampa. Nancy (McNary) Douglas - (B.M.) Happily retired as of June 29, 2007, following 50 years of continuous, uninterrupted employment in the field of education. Her first years were dedicated to music instruction (elementary thru higher education) and music supervision. The last 29 years Nancy held the position of Director of Federal Programs for Kanawha Co. Jack Sharretts - (B.M.) Since retiring from his position with the Department of Defense in 1993, Jack has remained active with various big bands in the Baltimore-Washington area. One of Jack's hobbies, writing and arranging saxophone quartets, took a commercial turn in mid-2006 when Berben of Ancona, Italy published two of his arrangements of works by Astor Piazzolla. Jack uses his remaining time for periodic trips overseas to visit old friends in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Europe. **(ed. 12/2006) **

Thomas Cavendish - (B.M.) (PhD - Florida State '66) begins his twenty seventh season as Artistic Director/Conductor of the Gold Coast Opera in South Florida. Productions for 2007 are TURANDOT, RIGOLETTO, and DON GIOVANNI. In the summer of 2005, Thomas Cavendish conducted the Sinfonia di Tito Schipa Foundation in two series of concerts in the province of Apuglia, Italy. Guest soloists were pianists Allesio Bax and Igor Kamens. In 2007 the maestro returns to Italy to conduct the Sinfonia di Francesco Cilea in Calabria. **(ed. 10/2006) **

She is active in the handbell world, serving her third term as education chair for Area V American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (Ohio, WV, Indiana, Kentucky & Michigan) She rings and shares conducting duties with the Mid-Ohio Valley Ringers, an auditioned, bronze level community choir.
