Welcome from the Division of Music. I believe the fact that you are reading this page means you are at least curious about a place that is hopefully near and dear to your heart. Whether you are new to the page or a frequent visitor you will find that there have been several recent changes at the CAC. One of the changes is in the office of chair. After seven years serving the Division Dave Bess has decided to rejoin the Music Education faculty. Dave deserves our thanks and admiration for guiding the Division through a very turbulent time. For the 2007-08 academic year I am serving as Interim Chair. For those of you I haven’t met, I came to WVU to teach trombone following Richard Powell’s retirement in 1995. From 2001-2007 I was also the Director of Graduate Studies.

During my years teaching at the CAC I have come to realize something that most alumni already know, the CAC is a special place where people truly follow their passions. As we continue to change and grow I invite you to come back for a visit, attend a concert, talk to faculty (old and new) and let us know how you are doing. I am sure we are as proud of you as we hope you are of us.
